Well, the wife asked me to put some stuff up in the attic yesterday afternoon. On my last trip up there, I stepped on a 2'x4' piece of decking that apparently had never been fastened down and for the last 12 years I've been walking across. Time eventually ran out for it and when I stepped on it, the decking slid off the joist and flipped up. My left leg went through the ceiling up to the thigh. The decking flipped up and wedged under a piece of 2"x4" bracing so I was pinned between it and the joist. Literally took about 5 minutes to finally free myself. Insulation and drywall was everywhere in the twins' room. On the upside, I found yet another use for duct tape, until I can get the hole fixed.
