Anyone that calls a scholarship athlete a slave obviously doesn't have a child in college that you are paying for.  Just because my kids aren't in college yet doesn't mean I don't understand myself. I've paid for plenty of higher education. My comments regarding the players being slaves was sarcasm. I took it as sarcasm unless you have been living under a rock. I was just trying to be facetious. I shake my head when I hear about college athletes being akin to slaves. Last I checked even Saban wasn't putting them in chains and dragging them to Tuscaloosa and the slaves of the past weren't wined and dined by different plantations to try and get them to come pick cotton for them.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
