Geezer, it's the summer depredation permit to use firearms at night with bait for shooting hogs between May 1 and August 31. Instead of being able to hunt and kill hogs at night with bait and guns on your own property or elsewhere you now have to get permission from the DCNR biologist and not the game wardens. Was told yesterday that the game wardens are no longer allowed to issue. Has to be done by the biologist now.
True. This was discussed during the CAB meeting and the director said the permits now are to come from biologists and not game wardens for the May 1 to August 31 "season." What a load of BS. A man can't go out on his own land or go out with someone else on their land and shoot a destructive feral hog without a permit.
