When did this become "the thing"? That is some stupid shucks to me. I thought it was something idiots on TV did to sound cool. It's about as dumb as naming trees in the woods. Oh, that pine is Larry.

Before people started hearing that crap on The High Fence with Tom and Jerry, no one did it. I have used cameras since they were film. I have never had to name a deer to keep track of them. Hell, you know looking at them what deer they are, they don't need a silly name.

No one ever names them Bob or Tom. It is always some thing cool, like "The split brow buck" or "Jamis Winson", or "sparkle pants".

Sorry, maybe I am just getting old and cranky. But, when I read a name for a deer, I hear it in some whinny Midwestern voice.
