Since we cut the cord on Dish, I got it last year just for football. As some have stated it would occasionally have to re-connect but not very often. I cut it off early January and will be re-connecting it this week. No complaints here for $24.99 per month (that's including the $5 for sports package. I will add that we don't have the most reliable or fastest internet either but all together it performed to my expectations.
