According to govtrack.us, from January, 2011, to February, 2016, Rubio has been absent and missed 14.4% of the votes (217 out of 1505). As far as I'm concerned, THE reason he is there is to represent his constituency. A big part of that, to me, is voting to represent their interests. He's going to have to explain why he can't even bother to show up before I vote for him.

Two points: 1.) If you had a sales rep. that missed 14.4% of your potential customers sales meetings, what would you do? 2.) According to the same source, the average serving senator is absent for less than 2% of the votes.

And yes. Cruz is just as bad. 14.2%
