May never be too old to learn - but probably too stubborn to change. I see it at least once every year - experienced hunter, don't kill as many deer as they once did, and for some reason haven't even taken a shot with their rifle in a while, and never even think about just shooting a couple times before season. Finally get a chance to "shoot at" a decent buck - and......completely miss. Then I here the same thing I've heard 50 times with different variations - "it was fine when I killed that deer two seasons ago". Really tough for me to understand.

That may be a little off topic, but kinda the same point already mentioned.
