Setting traps that can be proven have put the victim behind bars before.
The classic shotgun tied to a door is what comes to mind.
Joe burglar kicks in door and triggers buckshot into his chest. Not a trap, he just tied his bike to a tree. Rope is plainly visible. Video is also fake, as are most videos. Still funny though.
