Practice at differing distances. I start at 25, move to 35, move to 45 and work back in on the same schedule. I have only killed one deer over 35 yards with my bow, the rest were all inside of 20 yards. Getting close is the name of the game in bow hunting and once inside of 20 yards, it is all on you. With today's bows, the sky is the limit on distance.

I killed over 100 deer with my bow and never shot over 220 fps and the longest shot was 36 yards. I also never practiced over 30 yards back then, but occasionally would stretch out the distances if there were a lot of folks shooting with me egging all of us on..

I can't stand a thief.
