We've got fake stone at our cabin and it looks good but I regularly find a stone that is loose and have to reglue it. Found a large one this week on the outside of the chimney that was about to fall. Not sure what they used to glue it on but it's not holding good. Follow manufacturer recommendations and I'm sure you would be okay.
