Luck was on my side this afternoon and I punched my last buck tag for the season. When this season started I swore up and down I was gonna try to kill three bucks (because I've never tagged out) and make it my best season ever. Little did I know that it would actually turn out to be my dream season.

Went and sat in a spot this afternoon that I've never even thought about hunting in my 24 years of living on the property. It's walking distance from my house so I walked out the door at 2:30pm. Put my climber on the tree, got climbed up and settled in, and texted my dad about 5 mins after getting settled. That was at 2:57pm. A little bit after I texted him I pulled my bleat can out of my pocket and turned it over twice and pretty quickly. I hear a grunt almost immediately uphill from me, then another, then footsteps and another grunt and there he comes. He was walking along the side of the ridge in some thick stuff. I only had a tiny window to shoot through but I grunted, he stopped and the .270 barked. He ran 60 yds up the hill and I saw him fall. Texted my dad that I killed a buck at 3:07pm. Best I can figure he was bedded up within 100yds or so of me.

He's not the biggest buck that I've killed this year but he's the first one I've killed at home this season and there's just something special about that. I'm super stoked to have had the privilege of taking three wall hanger bucks this year! Now I just hope my luck runs over to turkey season! Anyway here he is as well as the other two that I got earlier this season.

And the other two!
