It's amazing how quite these deer are, I can't even hear them. Thankful to be able to be in the woods this morning! This past Sunday morning I hunted and had a problem with "quiet deer". About 8:30 the frost melted and the wind picked up. I had 6 does, a big 8pt, and a decent 5pt come in from behind me. I never heard em. They had literally walked 100 yards through open woods behind me, crossed a roadbed maybe 75yds to my left, and walked 50 yards up into the cutover before I caught the movement. I had to take a terrible shot at that 8pt (and I reckon I missed or wounded him), when I would've had a gimme open shot if I could've heard/seen them earlier (and probably killed him in that roadbed they had just crossed). You find blood or anything?
