When I was in the Army National Guard we had riot training. No weapons just batons and the basic riot gear. The NG will never be allowed to be armed in a riot situation when mobilized by the state governor after Kent State. Only when federalised by the POTUS. Unless that has changed in the last twenty years. I have been trained in Riot Control. The front line will not be armed with live weapons. Situation depending they can have less than Lethal weapons.. The guys calling commands will be armed with lethal weapons.. At least that is how I have been trained...
