Either he was futher away or you hit him low. Just my opinion

It took me a long time to learn to calm down for that second before the shot and make sure your on that neck.

Just trying to be helpful, I have missed alot of birds because I used to get so excited I think I blacked out for a moment then the next thing I knew my gun was empty and the bird was gone. I had the same thing happen to me on opening morning. The bird ended up being a little to far.

Yeah, that's the only thing I can imagine..the shot felt good but I wonder if I maybe tried to look over my scope just before I completed my squeeze causing me to shoot low...I just don't know...I know i had the crosshairs on the base of his neck when i was squeezing though...I've run it through my head a 100 times and can't figure it out...I'm ready to try for another though, I promise you that...this turkey hunting is FUN!!
