The common definition of "super group" is a group of musicians that were previously accomplished in other groups or had successful solo careers and they come together to collaborate on a project. The Highwaymen would be an example of a "super group". It may mean something else to others, but this is the context in which I've commonly heard it used. The Damn Yankees The Power Station
