Doing nothing is the chickenshat way to handle it.
Tell the wife is putting your nose too far in someone else's business. Your motives will be challenged and will probably lead to losing two friends.
Telling your friend that he is on a very slippery slope that never ends well is the correct and courageous way to handle it. Say your piece and be done with it. I concur
