Ever. Found some of my pa's old traps from the 70's. One is for a coyote
And the other is aimed more towards a bobcat. It was fun getting out and setting them even though I didn't really know what I was doing. Can't wait to check them today even if there ain't anything in them, I just love doing anything in the great outdoors
Coyote trap: . Set up on a trail they use coming from some hay bales on the left. Yote hair all over the barbed wire. Trap is about 3ft on my side of the fence. Threw some more duck feathers past it.

I believe the suspended bait is illegal. Someone else may chime in.

This is how it was explained to me by the warden in Baldwin county. You can hang a lure or attractant but not bait. If you use feathers they have to be clean of meat. I can't tell what you had there but if it was an old bleached out bone and some clean feathers you were probably ok. Give your local office a call and see what they say if that's what you want to use. Good luck. One other tip, make sure the trap by the fence is far enough away they can't reach the fence after the catch. If they get tangled in it or can grab it to pull on they might pull out or pull your stakes.

Thanks Charlie, yea the bone is from a doe I shot October 17th and the feathers are some duck feathers I found. No meat on them at all.

Like Charlie said as long as the bone and feathers were clean then they're only considered visual attractants therefore they should be legal.
