I got these in Tuesday afternoon and took them turkey hunting for about three hours yesterday morning. I bought them for that purpose, because at almost 70 years old, my ears aren't what they use to be. I didn't really realize that until I was hunting with my grandson. He could hear birds gobbling that I couldn't hear. Plus he heard them walking in the leaves when I had no clue they were around. These are designed to both enhance your hearing as well as protect it. Based on my one hunt with them and in shooting my pocket pistol in .380 cal I'd say they do both. When hunting I heard a pack of coyotes howling. They sound fairly close. I lifted one ear flap to see if they were in the direction I thought they were. They were, but they were much farther away than I thought they were. Of course, they also enhance other sounds as well, like birds, bees, your steps walking, and even your breathing. I tried walking around while wearing them, and there was just too much clutter. It would be better to wait till you get set up and turn them on. Anyway, the reason I'm selling them is that although they are much slimmer than a lot of muffs, they're just to bulky to carry around in the turkey woods, especially for running and gunning. It's just something else to carry. These would make great range muffs when you want to talk with someone between shots without having to remove your muffs each time. They have volume control so you can adjust how loud you want the incoming sound to be. I shot my .380 with the volume control at its highest, and they suppressed the sound very well. These are dark flat earth in color. Cabela's sells these for $59.99 I believe, but I'll take $35 for these face to face. I can text or email pics, and I don't want to drive very far to meet up for an item this cheap. I'm located in Franklin county between Haleyville and Russellville.
