Some of you may have noticed but there are Browning A5s out there for under $1100. Buds had the best deal but it is gone. I did manage to get one shipped to my FFL for $1099 from another online store. On top of that, Browning has a $100 rebate which puts the gun at $1000. The low price seems to only be on the ATAC camo version. https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/196823

Man I wish they would make this gun (and the A-bolt slug gun too while we're wishing) in a 20 gauge.

Well there's always the Savage 220 - bolt action 20 gauge slug gun. I picked one up from a guy here on Aldeer recently. Haven't shot it yet but they are supposed to be plenty accurate with the Remington Accu-tip slugs.

If you mess around and get one of the ones that doesn't feed well though it has the potential to ruin a hunt of a lifetime. Makes me nervous. My Browning A-bolt feeds like butter, feels much better, and is overall more accurate than my Savage 212. I just like the Browning offering a little better overall.

I bought a CVA hunter single shot in 20 gauge. It's only 5.5 lbs.
About 5 MOA (5 shots)is about all I've gotten at 100 yds.
What slugs are you guys using?
It does NOT like Hornady ammo. If it wont shoot a 2 3/4" Remington Accutip, you might as well find a new owner for it!

I will try some of those. I just ordered light fields and some partitions to try. I bought a CVA hunter single shot in 20 gauge. It's only 5.5 lbs.

Yea, rifled. 1/35 twist I bought a CVA hunter single shot in 20 gauge. It's only 5.5 lbs.

It does NOT like Hornady ammo. rifled barrel? That is a pretty slow twist for a 20 ga; most are in the 1:24 range. A lot of 12 ga barrels are in that range (1:35) but faster twist barrels seem to shoot the high-speed sabots better from my personal experience.
