When I was in Seattle, I saw a lot of places had stickers with a drawing of a puffin bird and lettering that said "No Puffin". I thought the first couple of sightings that that was odd but I finally realized that pot was legal in Washington. This was well before Colorado legalized it, but it didn't seem to be an issue for them like it is in Co.. Now granted, Seattle has some fruity people, but other than being oddballs, there didn't seem to be any more panhandlers and bums than any other big city.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Here's the article from Fox News' web site I mentioned. I was mistaken though on this article mentioning rescinding the law. I know their governor has spoken on the subject in California warning them about legalizing it due to the problems it's caused. I bet he doesn't want to give up the revenue though. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/05/17/leg...magnet.amp.html

CO and WA are near the top when it comes to economic growth.
Yep. I'm in commercial construction and we will start three new projects in Colorado this year. It's our first foray into this market and labor rates are much higher. As much as 40-50% higher than what we usually see in our traditional markets, and every contractor we talk to is very busy.

I saw a show last year that indicated one of the biggest issues in Colorado was pregnant women using marijuana. Some knew they were pregnant while using and a lot had marijuana in their system when they found out they were pregnant. You think that doesn't happen anywhere else?

Many people in Colorado regret legalizing it. I recently read an article on the subject and the homeless population, theft, panhandling, etc...has skyrocketed since the law changed. They are saying lots of people from all over have moved there just to smoke dope. There's talk of rescinding the law. There is too much money being made and taxes coming in for rescinding it to happen. That to me is a pipe dream. May you please post the article. I saw a documentary on Netflix or Amazon Prime about it. Most small business owners hate it cause they can't hire qualified candidates.

I made a lot of trips to Colorado in the 90's. Every business that hired min. wage help had a Help Wanted sign. People that work those jobs couldn't afford to live there back then.

Rather it's alcohol or marijuana.

Problem with the pot is there is not a test to tell how long ago it was smoked. If its in your system, its in your system.

So pot being legal makes all the qualified workers flee the state? I confused. Who does pot being legal mean there are no qualified workers? What is the connection?

So pot being legal makes all the qualified workers flee the state? I confused. Who does pot being legal mean there are no qualified workers? What is the connection? The documentary was illustrating (or slanting) that the influx of doobie smokers was in the typical pay range of most entry level jobs. Business owners realized an increase in business but struggled to find qualified help to manage the increase. Construction workers/laborers were one of the examples used. Fast food and convenience (type) stores were the other.
