got the better boys, cherry 100's, crook-kneck squash, carmen peppers, sweet banana, giant marconi peppers, cubanel peppers, jalepenos, blue lake bush beans, radishes, and yardlong beans, all in the dirt and growing up.
I may get adventurous and experiment with building a bamboo framed raised bed this weekend if I can scrap together enough spare parts to build another planter.

How long have those blackberries been going? I've thought about starting some one of these days. This is the third season on the first row to the left, the second season for the rest. I plant in the fall. I got over 15 gallons off the first row last year. I water regular with drip irrigation.

I could definitely handle 15 gallons of blackberries. Do they have big seeds like some of the "tame" varieties I've had?

Those rows are 65 feet. 20 to 25 plants per row. I have every variety I can find. Arapaho, Navaho, Shawnee, triple crown and some I can't even remember. The ones on the first row are trailing type, you will make more berries with these but they take more time maintain. They grow every where.
I think I'm going to like the triple crown the best. They are semi erect.
I Set up a drip system and I only use cotton seed meal for fertilizer.

I would rather not have to have a trailing type, but 15 gallons of berries is a pretty good yield on a row that size I figure. Are your triple crowns mature enough to have fruit yet? If so, are they making good? What about the seeds? We had one tame vine on a fence row on our farm and I ended up killing it. The berries were huge but I would spend a half a day picking seeds out of my teeth when I ate them. The seed were huge. Nothing like a wild blackberry.

I expect to get a good harvest from the triple crowns this year. I'll have to let your know. They are big sweet berries. I hadn't noticed the seeds on any of them being any bigger than regular wild ones. I don't eat as many fresh blackberries though as I do the blueberries.
My wife makes sauces, pies and I make wine with them.
She strains the seeds out and makes blackberry ice cream with whole milk. Its the best ice cream I've ever eaten.

Cover it with oak leaves every chance you get and till them in. I have been doing this in my garden for about 5 years. My soil here is pretty decent but its really starting to run dark and look great.

TC, you suck! Baby squash on 4/25...smh. I got my squash, and cukes transplanted. Tomatoes and peppers in the ground. 4 rows of corn planted, 2 rows of beans, 1 row of peas and a row of okra in the ground. Seed was swollen yestidy. Hope we don't get the 2" of rain they're talking about monday! My ground don't drain too good. Will prob add another row of okra and finish out my corn planting as soon as it dries next week.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.
