Looks like I'll be deer hunting them this morning.
Set up on a roadbed where I've heard one go several times this year.
Fresh tracks since the rain yesterday.
First morning all year I haven't heard a bird.
It's perfect this morning!!!!

Unexpected trip to Oklahoma for me. My grandmother lost her battle with cancer yesterday and we spent today traveling out here. I promised my wife I'd leave my turkey stuff at home. May ride up to our lease in Rattan and do a little shed hunting Sunday afternoon. Should be back in Bama getting after em by the weekend.

Same here in IL. Gobble good on the limb but it's over 20 min after fly down. I had one at 45 yards this morning but he was across the property line. I'm having a hard time getting on bird that on land I can hunt. If I could hunt a field that adjoins me he be dead pretty quick.

Same thing for us in KS. They gobble like hell at daylight then just vanish. These birds have been shell shocked for about 3 weeks and we are getting the brunt of that. This is as bad as hunting public land in Alabama.

Killed a damn stud this morning in Missouri. Has beard rot or would have been a 70+ point bird. Should score around 67-68 and be a good upgrade.

On a side note. How do you enter multiple beard birds on the NWTF calculator? Do you just add them all together and enter the totaled length?

If I did this right he scores 101.3125 and should upgrade my lowest bird by 44.25 points. Not bad huh?
