Listening to Rick & Bubba this morning. One of 'em wrote the IRS a check for $31K for this tax year.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I wrote a big one too. After paying all year long every two weeks and again every quarter. Employee payroll taxes, corporate taxes, state taxes, use tax, property tax, federal income tax, business tax, sales tax, etc etc etc. It keeps growing.

Make 10x as much, you should pay exactly 10x more in taxes. Not 15-20x more. The harder you work, the higher the rates are. Nothing fair about that.

Luckily I will get a small refund this year. I was worried since all of my income was Disability from an insurance policy through work and no taxes withheld but turns out no taxes due on the disability income and with medical expenses I got a refund bevause I have one child at home still !!

You AIN'T getting NO Refund! ! ! !

You are only getting the money that you loaned to the government back, with ZERO interest paid to you for that load.

naw, I paid nothing in last year. Zero.

I see what you are saying though and agree.

I only got a refund because I had a dependent child and had enough deductions on medical care that I got a refund.
I feel like a democrat now, Paid nothing in but got something back!! thumbup

Nearly 50% of people don't pay jack. They have no skin in the game. It's not paying 10x more, it's infinitely more. Then those people vote for higher taxes on those who actually pay.

I paid more in taxes for 2013 than what my total living expenditures were. That'll get the blood boiling. mad

I was listening to, Rick is the one that said it. I wonder how much money they make a year... I bet it's millions.

I'm really fond of the 12.5% self employment tax, AND the business PRIVILEGE tax. Not only do I have to pay extra taxes for being self employed, I have to pay extra taxes for the privilege of being self employed. That's double taxes for the same thing....

Mailed my check off to my big uncle yesterday! We were looking at all these additional forms 6951 this, 4928 that, yada yada.... The bulk of these forms now are NOT to help you get additional deductions, but to make sure you pay a MINIMUM TAX. Its crazy.

My wife told me we need to sit down this summer and start figuring out how to move our money offshore. Lol. I suggested a minimum of a 24' Center console with a range of 300 miles. She replied that was not what she meant.

I try to ride a fine line between getting $200 back and paying them $200. This year I paid $186.00. On top of the tens of thousands of my $ they already took.

I get back around $1800.00 state. Been that way for about 4 years.

1995 I stroked a check for $13,000 for 1099 work. Learned how to work the system since then.

Regardless of what tax system you would prefer, I think payroll taxes should be completely done away with. Everyone should have to stroke a check on April 15. No refunds of anything. That would wake people the hell up and in a hurry. Surest way to change things too.

People act like their returned money is a great thing. Most never even realize what they actually pay in and don't get back. No reach around, no kiss on the neck. Yet they are happy to have it. Yup...gubment has them right where they want them.
