Talking with my neighbor yesterday afternoon. He was telling me about a bird with a 21 in. beard. It was killed at their club this week. I saw a pic of it, paint brush down to about 12in. thinner down to 16in. And thinner down to 21. How in the heck did be not wear it down? He had to have been walkin on tip toes everywhere he went. Never heard or seen anything like it...

No way, maybe some loose ones where it was shot. It would be broken off, most break them off around the 10-11" mark. He would step on 21".

I know what you are saying, but I can lay 15 beards together and make one 100" long or lay them so it appears to have 10 beards. I've killed several over the years that when you pulled on the beard half of them were shot into and would come out and appear longer than the rest.

I wouldn't believe it unless it was in my hands.

I remember a few years ago I heard a story about a turkey being killed with a 26 inch beard. When the hunter got to the bird he said one strand was caught under its wing and just kept curling up. I'm not saying this story is true, but I could see it happening especially if the bird was injured and couldn't fly.

Don't think I'll believe a pic, I would have to see it in person an do some serious inspection
