I let the rear seat overhang the tongue (back it up til the tires hit the railing). I'm betting it would fit on a 5X8 too just no room for anything else. Like others mentioned, unless I already owned a 5X8 I would go with a 5X10. A 6X pulls significantly heavier and I never need the extra width on my golf cart trailer.
