I have had one for bout 15 years and like it also been shootin heavy shot #6 out of it every since they hit the market.Question is I was shopping for my son a choke for his 870 and noticed gobblin thunders are not recommend for heavy shot .Any one else shot heavy shot in theirs? I have not had any problems and it patterns fine out of my gun.

I have shot heavy shot out of a few with no problems. You can get better chokes for the same money though.

I had the Gobblin Thunder in my Benelli. I have the Indian Creek .665 in my 870 and it is some kinda deadly. I would highly recommend it.

They only recommend winchester high velocity #5's for the kicks gobbling thunder chokes. That is what they test them with.
