I've found a decent deal on an 03 6.0 with low miles. I've done a little research on the bulletproof kit. Just wondering if anybody has had any experience with these?

Worst engine Ford ever built. I buy a F250 every year or two for the shop. I just got rid of a 06 and kept the 03 with more miles because the 06 was nothing but problems. The dealer tried to get me to trade the 03 because it was worth more money and he said it would be easier for him to get rid of.

My old diesel mechanic can get her built if u get it. Hes in alabaster and has a impressive resume on 6.0's . I wouldn't get it unless I planned on the bulletproof kit

You got any idea what the bulletproof kit would cost installed. I'm kinda factoring that in on the price of the truck.

Mine had the kit installed and it still cost me an arm and a leg to repair things constantly. One of the best days of my life were the day I sold it.

If you have it done right (EGR delete, oil cooler replace/upgrade, and quality tuner)it'll run upwards of $3000 if you let someone else do it. If you have the ability to do it yourself you can save a little. Even with the bulletproofing/EGR deleting there will still be multiple problems that you'll run into. My advice is run and never look back.

RC mafia should be able to chime in here I believe he did this he bout an f-250 with low miles and a good deal. He ended up putting a cummins in it. Don't settle when it comes to diesel trucks get quality and reliability. Because that is really the only reason why you buy a diesel. For the reliability and longevity.

the full kit was right at 3k the last time I looked for someone. that's the block up repair. we don't do it at my shop but know a shop that I sub my heavy diesel work to .ill get you a price. just keep in mind this is not going to solve everything but will for the major problems.

Had a buddy with one, he hated it.

Maybe its just me but if Im in the market for a truck the last thing I would want to do is put a "fix it kit" on it in hopes it would be dependable. Im strange like that I guess.

They should come from the factory with a retractable drop cord just to make it easier to plug up everywhere you go.
