Saturday morning my grandson and I were gong up 331 just above Brantley on the 4 lane. I saw something out of the corner of my eye running across the road and I had to hit the brakes. There was a 4 point buck running like hell across the road. He had a bright new orange collar on, barely missed him. Never seen one like that again, probably was named Bucky or Bambi by someone.

dang, a collar on a free deer is a death sentence. It will hang it on something sooner er later....

Yep. Slow, agonizing death. Just senseless. Probably some PETA fruitcake did it not realizing they basically killed it.

We had 3 does on the place we hunted wore orange collars.

Saw one last year in perry county and it was tight as can be. I tried to get the scope on him but he was chasing. Haven't seen him this year. Probably choked to death.

somebody raised a fawn and turned it loose with a collar to keep folks from shooting it. Won't work.

Several years ago I got pictures of a young buck with an orange collar. The buck was with two other bucks. The area I was hunting was on the North Baldwin/ Escambia county line.

The state and Auburn released several collared deer on Rembert Hill road I south of Linden this year. They put up signs asking people not to shoot them.

There is a deer collar program in place, but they are using radio collars like the one in this link. The pic isn't of an orange collar.

Our neighbor south of demopolis had several does with collars and several with ear tags. I saw one of the ear tagged does around 8 am #23 to be be specific, I called him when I left around lunch time. I told him #23 was on our property this morning and he said nah, I'm looking at her. She had traveled 3 miles in 3.5 hours .

Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers..........

About 5 years ago in Marengo Co. me and my son were moving a stand. I looked up and saw a doe that looked like it had a wire around its neck. Told my son to shoot it. When we walked up to the deer we realized it was a faded orange collar.

The one seen in Perry Co., was it in or near Suttle, along Hwy. 14 ?
