The way I read the law it says if you own the property your hunting you and immediate family are allowed to hunt within the 100 yards as long as you don't shoot at , toward or hit the property of others without there permission. So the tripod I planned to put up in February for south wind I can't do I'll have to stick with the shooting house I'm building that will be 60 yds from there front porch.

Eiley agnus makes a good tall thick hedge over time. I've pruned it back before when it was 15 to 20 feet tall and just as thick. Makes a great barrier

I wouldn't worry to much about a screen because you can't legally hunt it now.

It shall be unlawful for any person to hunt or attempt to hunt within 100 yards of any dwelling belonging to another, whether occupied or not, without the permission of the owner or lessee of said dwelling. Provided further, it shall be unlawful for any person to discharge a firearm while hunting in such a manner that any projectile strikes any dwelling or building used for human occupation, whether occupied or not, or any commercial vessel, without the permission of the owner or lessee of said dwelling, building or vessel. This regulation shall not apply to a landowner or member of his or her immediate family hunting on his or her own property provided that no projectile strikes any of the above stated property of another without the permission of the owner or lessee of said property.

I'd take all the money and energy of making a screen and move my plot location. Do you seriously think you are going to have much success from a plot 50 yards from someones back porch? Do they have kids, dogs? They are going to be getting home from work the same time you are hunting and their headlights will be shining into your plot at dusk. Your plot is ruined. Plant the field in pines and move on.

I can just come down there and do my morning run/sun bathing in the nude.

Line up a bunch of old broke down vehicles and let time take its course.Then you have instant shooting houses

I dont blame you for wanting to put up a screen that would piss me off too, leyland cypress would probably be the best screen although it would take time you could always plant some privet!!

This, plant then about eight feet apart and in a few years you will have a great screen. None of my business, but I will throw this out. It is always better to be friends with your neighbor rather than being enemies.

I can't move my plot I'm on a cost share with the state and can't do anything but thinning for 30 years. I have a field in the bottom 150 yards below it that the deer love but it's the principal they can do what they won't on there property but I also have that right. I have one more plot I have to clean up this spring and I may have to expand my bottom field and plant the top one in corn and leave it. They do have dogs and said they won't fence them. This is another reason for a thick screen so I don't have to SSS. Yekrut the way that law reads at the bottom look at the if you own the property am I reading that incorrectly?

You could put up some tall posts with some type of field fence or chain link. plant a running vine like honeysuckle. it will cover the fence and make a wall. a plus is it will not be unsightly and will have fragrant flowers that your neighbor would probably like. confederate jasmine is another possibility.

Well, I still suggest planting it in pines and moving on. There is no way I'd plant my neighbor a greenfield 50 yards from their back porch. You are fighting a losing battle.

My money says you pay some large legal fees in the future and your deer hunting on that plot is still going to suck. Just my opinion though.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the way I am reading this is; you have a field on the property line, and are now pissed because your neighbors are clearing their property and will be able to see your shooting house and field.

If you want a screen and barrier for man and beast look into some trifoliate orange. Nothing will pass through it without shedding lots of blood. Grows to about 8-12 feet from what I can tell.
