I bought a 2005 club car precedent this past week, plan on making a hunting cart out of it. It could use new batteries and I was hoping someone on here could point me in the right direction for the best price on a new set. Next I will be looking for a lift and tires.

Thanks,

Oh yeah, I'm around Troy, AL so somewhere within 100 miles would be nice.

Have you tried Battery Specialists on Henderson Highway. I buy all of my vehicle batteries there.

I bought mine from the cart guys in Dothan on the north east side of the circle. Remember with batteries not all are the same.

Get ready to drop about $600 depending on how many you buy.

Get trojans or something equal to it. While you are getting batteries upgrade the wires to at LEAST 4 gauge. Spray some terminal cleaner and protectant on em and check them for tightness every month or so when u check the water levels. Used only distilled water If u have to add any

I have talked to battery specialist and they have the best batteries I can buy for 660, which I thought was a decent deal but I just had to check. I got such a good deal on this cart spending 6-700 in batteries and about the same thing in a lift and tires. I will still have well below what it would cost for me to buy one already set up.

DON'T get lesser quality batteries! The top 4 are Trojan, Dekka, Crown, and US Battery. They cost more, but trust me, it's for a reason!

I have US Battery 145's in mine and can go forever before the charge drops.

Do you have a 36 or 48v cart?

Another thing, do not put ballon tires on it, get the skinniest tires u can get. With it being a stock motor controller set up, u have a whoppin 2.5-3.5 hp. I wouldn't put bigger than 22" tall tires on it.

Its a 48v cart. Ill do the lift myself, it already has 4ha battery cables. Ill upgrade the rest of the cables soon. Im not planning on anything crazy for tires. Ill swap for a stronger motor eventually but that will be later.

Get your lift and accessories off ebay. I made me a hunting rig out of a club car ds this summer. I paid 1300 for the cart and put a 6" lift with 22" tires and new wheels, black seat cover, rear flip seat, headlights, new tinted windshield, fender flares, and painted it camo and I've got 2500 total invested.

Yeah cmon. Daniel White

Right now my list is:
New batteries
headlights
probably just gonna put 20" tires on right now, (save on lift and wheels)
Paint
Build a bed of some sort
Plumb quik bandit motor

I'll add a lift and some 23" tires later, but I want the motor upgraded first.

Take this for what its worth, I put the biggest motor you can buy for an ezgo (15.5hp) and a 800 amp alltrax controller and was lucky to get 2 miles out of a charge on brand new trojan batteries. A stock motor conttoller and a mild lift/tires will get u 7-10 miles easy.

I have a stock motor and controller on mine, but huge US Battery 145's, which are 251ah's. It's lifted with 22's and I ran last weekend at hunt club over 15 miles of hilly terrain and when I got back was still at 90% SOC on the batteries.

Best bet is to get the largest amp/hour battery you can afford. It's like putting in a huge auxiliary fuel tank in your truck. Costs more up front, but you can go much longer before needing to refill (recharge).

Just picked it up today with the new racks on it. I still have to get some skinny tires but its pretty much done except for the led lights.
