I was a avid bow hunter until 20 years ago when two sons started playing baseball and football and then college. Now after the last one has graduated from college. I'm in the need of a new bow. A lot has changed in 20 years and I don't really know a lot about the new bows. I'm on a working mans budget so around 500 or 600 dollars is all i can afford.
What do ya'll suggest I look at for this price? Thanks

I would search craigslist and archery talk and you can find a fully rigged set up in that price range. No reason to buy a new bow, all you may need is a new custom string.

If you want to always win, never play anyone better than you!

Do research, get fitted for what you need and then buy one off of archerytalk.com

I agree the best value is a used bow. You can easily find a top manufactured bow rigged for that.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

I recently bought my first bow second hand.

Mathews switchback came w/fallaway rest, 5 pin sight, release, quiver, and a decent case for $585. I probably slightly overpaid for what I could have gotten it for had I been patient. I had to buy arrows, field tips, broadheads, and a target.

I'm all practiced up and ready to go.

Now if I could just find a deer in range while I have it in my hands!

I bought a 2004 Pearson Dagger from a guy here on the ALDEER classified forum. Paid $125 for the bow, $75 for a new sight, $50 for a quiver, $50 for a release ... $300 plus arrows. Arrows cost me about $30 each ( $10/shaft, $10/broadhead, $10/lighted knock) so that ran me around $600 total. I love the bow too, it will shoot as accurate as I can make it

Of course when I get paid I always like to run to the archery stores smile

I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin
