Not much going on at work so I left 2 hours early. I have been watching the radar all night and the rain has moved out for now. When everything stops dripping maybe they will get up and walk. I got time to take a nap before daylight. Lol. Hunting Bankhead National Forest.

Just seen a good buck at 6:30. 55 yards from me and wind swirled on me and he got a little spooky and went back the way he came from. Then 30 minutes later he walked around the bluff on the otherside 150 yards and went right where he wanted to. To smart for me I guess.

I don't know maybe 40 or more climbs and only killed 3 , but have let a 4 or 5 walk. This morning is the first good buck I have seen all season and it wasn't all that big either. Bow hunting is my drug.

You are hooked pretty good then my friend. I'd be so burned out by now if I went that much.

Yes I have been hooked since I was 9. Started hunting heavy at 16 and from 21 to 29 years old I hunted 5 to 6 days a week every afternoon. Now at 37 years old I'm still in the woods as much as possible. I might get burnt out one day , but I dout it. Out of 28 years of hunting I have only carried a gun a handful of times. Love shooting deer with a bow.

Seen a group of 4 bucks this afternoon. I was sitting in the corner of some select cut pines with a grown up cutover to my left and a swamp in front of me. I was hoping to catch them coming out of either and the 2 small ones did but the 2 rack ones came from behind me. They all came from different places joined up together then walked off into the cutover in a single file line. 8pt, 6pt, 2 spikes. Ruts still atleast a month off in Macon county
