I broke out my .270 A-Bolt. I hope I just tweaked a muscle in my back and it's not something going on with a disc in my neck. It's aggravating and just bad enough that I can't draw my bow. I won't be able to hunt again until December 13, so hopefully it will be cleared up by then. Just didn't feel right sitting with the rifle today.

It didn't feel right, but it was still better than sitting around the house. I'd rather shoot a doe with my bow than a buck with a rifle any day. I got a shot at a huge male bobcat Friday afternoon at 13 yards. Joker never knew I was in the world. In all of my years bowhunting that is only the second shot I've gotten off at a bobcat. The other 5 or 6 times I got busted drawing on them. On the two I've gotten shots off at, I've hit right in front of them. Suckers are quick. The next time I get a shot at one, I'm aiming at the hindquarters.

I've had more trouble hitting grey fox. It was a 15 yard shot. The fox was gone before my arrow got there. I didn't even attempt another shot, he was so fast.

I've only gotten a shot at a bobcat twice in my life. Both under twenty yds. Missed both !

I did the same thing on Saturday mid morning. I saw a racked buck Friday a.m. from my stand with bow, but could not see the size. Went to another stand in the general area. Never saw the buck, but had two does within 15 yds taunting me

I know the feeling. I've been out 23 times so far with no success yet. I took my rifle once and it didn't feel right. I really want my first deer to be a bow kill so I'm sticking with the bow until I get #1 ...

use a bow string as a sling on the rifle, it will make ya feel better about it...

I've only shot at 1 bobcat with a bow. It was 34yds and I drilled it right through the lungs. I should have got it mounted...

I had my rifle this weekend to start with because I was taking my 8 yr old. By Sat night I quit. I'm plagged with not being seeing any thing to shoot with a gun in my hand (this extends to who I'm hunting with also). Swapped to my bow Sunday, and my buddy and son killed a pig. I tell my self the deer must sense I have a rifle and stay well away, what they dont know is I'm a better shot with my bow than a gun.

I shot at one walking the edge of a patch and he didnt have a clue I was there. Ducked the first arrow and started preening himself. Got drawn and held low and he jumped over the second shot and sat back down. I was gonna try him a third time but I figured he'd either catch the arrow in his paws or bat it away so i just licked my wounds and waited on a deer. Those jokers are unbelievably quick. But I can confim that they are not quicker than a .270.

I broke out the ML last w/e. Didn't see a deer, so I leveled a yote. I just want to put one more doe in the freezer and horn hunt with a bow after that.

I shot at my first Bob cat with a bow this year. I made what I thought was a good shot at 35 yards. I tracked him and lost blood in a young pine thicket. All I could think was that he climbed a tree. I then went back to the green field, pickedmy bow up, knocked the same arrow I shot a doe with that morning and the cat, took about 8 steps and a racked buck was standing in the leg of the T field. I shot him for 35 yards and sailed it right over his back. Stepped him off at 28 yards.

Shaw if you are in good health otherwise, take 800mg of ibuprofen for 3 or 4 days. I guess I shouldn't recommend that, but that's what I have done when my neck flairs up. If you do make sure you drink a full glass of water after taking them or they will eat the end off your esophagus. You can take 4, 200 mg tablets or go to the doctor, spend money on that and get a prescription for 800 mg tablets. LOL Never have figured that out.

Been taking ibuprofen since Saturday and it hasn't helped. It hasn't gotten and better or worse. I'm afraid it's going to wind up being a herniated disc right below what they repaired when I broke my neck. It's the same pain I had when I broke my neck, only a little lower. Gonna be hard headed about it and give it a couple of weeks and see what it does.

You better go get it seen about now little buddy. I need you to be in top shape when I come to town for the ASA shoot next year.

For your sake, I hope it goes well. If usually takes about 4 or 5 days before the ibuprofen starts to help mine. Are you taking 800 mg at a time?

Taking 600mg twice a day.
