I grew up there, but only hunt there on holidays now when I'm home. It's been pretty slow the last couple of years, but just curious what it's been like for others?

Hunted there last year. West edge. Didn't see much, but lots of tracks. Expect to see more this year.

In the last few years, it seems it really heats up there about the time the season is going out. That has been my experience anyways.

I do a couple of times a year on friends property when the invite comes along. Lot of deer and a few good bucks as well.

As a kid I dog hunted there alot with my dad and his friends. Lot of deer and good times. There isn't much that matches running up a muddy south alabama dirt road at high speeds getting in front of the chase. The DCNR cut that out around 2001 or so.

I grew up and still hunt Coffee Co just to the North......could leave my house and be in Geneva Co in 10 minutes or less.

You are right about the rut.
They drew that line for the extended season all wrong in southeast alabama.

No the bridges I think you are talking about on 167 north is the Pea River (167 south would be the Choctawhatchee). Clower bridge is Whitewater creek but you likely know that.

Double Bridges Creek starts south of New Brokton and flows south to Geneva and runs into the Choctawhatchee River not far above where the Pea and Choc. come together at the junction.

Cletus are you on a lease or is there a club up that way? I'm going to try and find something better for next year. I may venture down to Geneva this year, but then again Barbour isn't too far, just hate being there during gun season.

No all private land. Not sure of leases or clubs. I did see a place up north of Victoria on Whitewater Creek for lease awhile back. I cant remember where I saw it (website) but there are a few places to lease out there.

A guy on here was looking for someone to help with his lease in Geneva Co awhile back. I thought about it just for Turkeys.

Me and a buddy looked at a couple of the leases that Charles Patterson. He was good guy and the land had some decent tracks. In the end we opted not to take any of it because his smaller parcels are mainly farm fields, and I hate have no options other than sit on a field at dusk and dawn.
