 Finally got it done this morning. Got a late start, got to the club at 0510. Didn't get settled until 0550. Due to my tardiness I had to hunt a different spot than the one I wanted. The spot has been a great afternoon spot, not a morning spot. I was not very confident with my set this morning due to being late and the amount of wind. In a break between the strong wind I heard that distinct crunch in the leaves. Without looking I just stood up and looked to my right. I saw two does about 40 yards. I grabbed my bow and ranged the two spots they might walk through, 23 yards and 13 yards. The bigger of the 2 took the trail at the 23 yard window. I had to grunt at her to stop in the window and squat to get my shot off. The wind was so strong I couldn't get a steady shot on her. What felt like 5 minutes the wind settled and so did my 20 yard pin, behind here shoulder. Double lunged her and she ran about 60 yards. Today was my 15th day in the woods. I have seen 17 deer (including today), had 6 in bow range, missed one and couldn't get a shot on the others. I will post pics when my photobucket app stops acting up.
