Yeah, it happens sometimes. Got home at 5:15 this afternoon, had to catch and relocate a couple of baby Raccoons, then rushed to get my clothes on and get to the stand for my first hunt of the yr. Well, a big ol mule headed nanny came out when I had been in the stand for about 15 minutes, 20 yds broadside. Just whiffed one over her by an inch, but it was nearly dark thirty when she came out. Wish I could train them to come by about 5-10 min earlier. The good thing is that I have now seen 1/3 of the deer I saw on the place last yr and in a 20 minute hunt. Sometimes it happens, but at least I didn't spend all evening trailing and having to fool with her. Felt good to be in the stand for a bit. If life would ever slow down a little, I have a big'ol boy or two I need to get after. Be at he baseball field all day tomorrow, so maybe I'll give them a rest until next weekend. Good Hunting everyone.
