I bought these as spares for the Zebra, which I'm selling as well.

Everything appears to be good. No chipped teeth. They were taken out of a running vehicle.

$250.00 plus actual shipping cost.

Pics will be posted later. Have been stored in the shop in the 5 gallon buckets they were shipped in 5 plus years ago.

God Bless,
David B.

I put 5.29's in my 83 Toyota that I used to have. It had 39.5 super swamper iroks and a 22r. I could put that truck in low and get out and walk beside it. I only did it once though. I damn near got runover trying to get back in.

I've got 4.37s in the Zebra. You can drop her in low and walk besides her.

I had these as spares to just drop in if needed.

I thought the price was fair, as these are the complete third members, not just gears. Nothing to set up and measure backlash. Just install in the axle and go.

I haven't seen many 4.37 thirds. They came in most 79-80's toyota 4wd trucks, green ratio code.

These are not 4.30 gears, though there isn't enough difference one couldn't run the two together. The 4.37 gears went to 4.30s, the 4.11s went to 4.10.

If the price isn't fair make a fair offer.

God Bless,
David B.

I have never seen a thread that I didn't have at least a tiny clue to what was going on.

Until now.

Toyota third member

Changing gears in the third member will allow larger tires to turn with less strain on engine, depending on the gear set.

Far as I know folks just rounded the number, 4.10 rounded down, 4.11 rounded up. There's only so much you can do with the teeth on the pinion on smaller diffs. 4.37s were in Trucks with auto trans, that's what I pulled out of my '86 when I did a SAS and 5.29s went in. I think some of the early first gen Toyotas had 4.88s.

Ya should see how low one is with 5.29s, dual Transfer cases and one of the cases with a 4.70 gear set in it. I've seen them pull up to a tree, let out on the clutch at idle and they will VERY slowly spin the tires, not even coming close to going dead! A snail is faster.
Had a friend had a truck geared that way power with a 22r on propane putting out 160hp. A beast.

I bet eyedoc is some kinda confused now.

Didn't mean to derail just more Toyota info.

Yeah I wanted to put another transfer case in mine, a guy gave me another tranny and xfer case and I put it in my yard where I used to live and when I got to wanting to put it in the dang thing was gone. Last hijack, I promise.
