I have 2005 Honda Rancher with the electric shift. For about two years now it will not shift into reverse (will shift into forward gears just fine). I can use the emergency shift tool to get it into reverse, but that's so much trouble I just never park where I'll need a reverse because I've learned to live with uncomfortable situations for a long time. When I first asked you men about this almost two years ago, some of you said it was this part -- the angle sensor: Here's the issue: online ATV forums suggest that this is not just an easy replace-and-ride fix but rather that the repair is more complex and difficult than you might think. Has anyone actually replaced this before on your own?

I replaced it on my 500 foreman once easily by winching up the front end and replacing it from the front - took about 20 minutes and was very easy

Mine always acted up before the battery crapped out.

I've got an '04 350. I replaced that part, it fixed the electric shifting problems I was having. However, reverse was still having problems. There is a small wire somewhere underneath that got pulled out by some brush. The guys at the motorcycle shop fixed it for me when I finally took it in for service. check out this thread maybe it will help... http://www.hondaatvforums.net/forums/rep...to-reverse.html
