Riding from my cabin to my land midday Saturday I round a corner and a doe and this little bugger are standing in the middle of the road. Well I start slowing down and the doe takes off. The fawn stayed in the road an slowly hobbled to the side. Well obviously I wanted a picture at this point. I get out with my phone and the fawn lays down still on the side of the road. Then the thing gets up walks to me and starts bleating. I never touched it. Got back in the truck drove around it went down the rode a quarter mile and waited to see if the doe came back. She did after about 2 minutes and off they went. This little deer was about the cutest thing I have ever seen. Must have been just born because its fir was still kinda wet and it could barely walk. Also, this was the second fawn I saw this weekend. The first was much larger and had no trouble running.

Take your kids hunting instead of hunting your kids.

I'd rather be LOST in the woods than FOUND in the city.

You mean you acted like you're supposed to and didn't do like it seems like everyone else does and assume the doe abandoned the fawn, which left you no choice but to take the fawn home and try to feed it 2% milk that you picked up from Walmart on your way home? Then after days of the fawn not eating you decide to call the Humane Society only to be told they won't take the deer in. In desperation you call around several other places, again, to be told your on your own. After all of this the deer dies and you decide that something "must have been wrong with it to begin with"? grin Cool pics by the way. smile

I really like to see fawn pics just as much as I enjoy seeing big buck pics. Thank you for sharing them. Very Cool!!

Ford150man, you nailed it!!

Clayton, thanks for sharing with Aldeer. Is that not the cutest thing in the world? I understand the cross-parental species instincts that kicks in and makes you want to protect it, but Mother Nature has a plan.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

My lease is down the same road as the old spring hill plantation I think. Where abouts was this? Down Perry's well road or off 431?
Just curious.
