My SBE with a Pure Gold .670 gets numbers about like that with straight 8s. You might be a shade over-choked with that .665.
But really kind of a moot point, as you have a very dead turkey out to at least 75 yds. Congrats on a great combo!

Pcp you think I if I play with a 10g recipe it would increase my range over a hotter 12g load?

Pcp you think I if I play with a 10g recipe it would increase my range over a hotter 12g load? I have no experience with 10 gauge; never owned one and never even fired one. But if it is a modern gun and you don't mind exceeding SAAMI specs with your loads, it would seem reasonable to me that a 10 gauge should produce the max range shell over anything else. Just remember that 10 gauge is supposed to operate at lower pressure than a 12 gauge 3.5", so an older 10 gauge gun might be in danger if you load really hot shells. But we are talking about the difference of a 75 yd 12 gauge gun vs. what? A 90 yard 10 gauge? I wouldn't wanta lug a heavy 10 gauge around just because I theoretically had an extra 10-15 yds of range at a distance I'd never consider shooting a turkey anyway. I think that the best use of the tungsten loads are with the smaller gauges. You can carry around a light 20 gauge and have a more effective gun than a big boomer in 12 gauge shooting lead, or even hevishot. I'm kinda thick, so it took me several years of shooting the stuff to see the light, but I have at last seen it. Good luck if you go the 10 gauge route, and please keep us posted. i'm always interested in such projects. >>>Steve, I found a CHEAP used PG 670 for my gun. I'll try it when i get it<<< Wow, that's great! You very seldom see one of those for sale, much less for sale cheap. I haven't heard of anyone using a PG in a SBE shooting tss that wasn't pleased. Let us know how it works. I'm really interested to see if you like it better than the .665.

Been shooting a 10 for almost 20yrs, so it doesnt matter to me about the weight. I know what your saying I'm hard head from all those wolf creek wma turkeys. I want to have the biggest baddest gun in my hands at all times. I think I'm going to play with it some.

I want to have the biggest baddest gun in my hands at all times. You wanna borrow one of my 20s?

How tight is that combo at 30 yards? basketball? i'm not really sure. I haven't shot the combo at less than 50 yds yet. but from what I've seen on this and various forums, the 20-30 yd patterns are not excessively "tight". Maybe Preacher, or BrentM will chime in
