Someone said to use MSMA... Has anybody ever used it?

Manor, mansion, or msm60. Same active ingredient. Will smoke it

Where is the best place to get it? Does someone like Tractor Supply sell it? Any tips on spraying it? I've got a huge area to spray...

Don't spray it over centipede even though it says you can. It will stunt it and yellow it

Be sure to time application of metsulfuron methyl (MSM 60, Escort, etc.) with expected rain. It takes rain to activate it and get the kill you'll want on the Bahia. No rain, no good kill.

A high rate glyphosate treatment can be very effective but will cost more per acre. 4 quarts/ac of lower concentrate (41%) product or 3 quarts/ac of higher concentrate (50+%) such as Round up Ultra or weathermax, etc. will kill it sure enough dead.

What are you trying to kill it in? Pasture, lawn, etc.? Metsulfuron, as has been suggested, is one of the better choices, depending on your situation. Also, down in your neck of the woods there is both Pensacola and Argentine bahiagrass. Argentine is much harder to control and does not respond as well to herbicide application as Pensacola does.

It's at our church.... I keep all the grass cut (for free) and within a week the Bahia is a foot tall...if I could eliminate it, I would only have to cut once every 2 weeks...each cut takes 2-1/2 hours and it is killing me....so I'm wanting to kill the Bahia without killing everything else

You will want to get some Manor or MSMturf. I would not put on more than 0.25 oz/A if it is in centipede or St. Augustine. Add in 0.25% vol/vol surfactant also. Repeat this in about 4 weeks. You will probably get some yellowing but the other grass will grow out of it. Probably will take several cycles to completely eliminate it.

What 007 said. It didnt kill the centipede but the homeowners weren't happy. They were back to normal in 6 weeks

What is the .25% vol/vol surfactant....you can tell I'm ignorant when it comes to this stuff..ha

0.25% v/v means that if you mix up one gallon (3785 mililiters), you would put in 9.46 mililiters of surfactant, or about two teaspoons.

3785 x 0.0025= 9.46

I actually didn't know what the surfactant was but I figured it out and picked some up at TS....thanks for the help!!!

Ok guys...my msm turf came in...I was going to cut grass tomorrow evening...how long should I wait after cutting before I spray it or does it matter?

Until you have a decent amount of regrowth. The more you get into the plant the better. Wait a few days to mow after treating.
