I just bought some easton axis fmj the other day. The gold tips i am shooting are close to 400grains shooting about 280 fps. Does anyone know about how fast and the ke i will be getting out of close to a 27 1/4 in arrow? Would it be worth switching to the fmj over the goldtips?

you will need to know the IBO speed of your bow. and any weight thats been added to your string.
I would stick with the gold tips if it were me. I liked the ones I had before I went to Maximas. I will probably go back to them.

Just weigh your new arrow. As long as the bow isn't changed: For each 5 grains of arrow weight you'll gain or lose approximately 1 feet per second. If the FMJ's are 20 grains heavier, your arrow speed will be close to 276. 20 grains lighter? then 284.
