Deer, coons, owls to name a few... have mostly rods.
Turkeys, crows, hawks... have mostly cones.
Kinda makes sense as if it's nocturnal, they can't see color very well. If they're daylight animals, they can for sure see color. I.E. Turkeys
But scientist have it figured out with rods and cones being the answer.
But one thing I have noticed like was mentioned earlier... I have been able to walk up on deer even though they're looking at me, during dark hours and I know they see me. But I certainly can't, for the most part, walk up on them during daylight hours.

First of all, let me say that as a Christian I believe wholeheartedly in the reality of creation. I believe God created everything. The earth, the heavens, all the critters and of course, man. I also believe that man is the crown jewel of God's creation and God made us superior to all the animals. So, if I am superior and above the whitetail deer in the order of creation and I can't see at night in the darkness, then how can a deer see at night in the darkness? I'd like to see you fight a grizzly on pay-per-view in a boxing match!
