Those folks are in TExas, I was thinking around the Troy area so I can pick up the block myself.

2X4's, plywood, 2-mil thick plastic sheets, and some 2-part urethane 4-lb density foam and make them yourself! Make sure to take AND SHARE the pics though!

I think on most lakes you can't use them no more. I built a lot of floating docks we use black plastic floats

x2, built one with them filled with 2 part urethane foam. You can also fill them 1/4 to 1/2 full with water and a little bleach to prevent bacteria, then seal the bungs up with 5200 marine caulk. Last forever practically.

I'm not making something for the Chunky River Raft Race, I'm making a floating dock for a family pond. Ya'll are about worthless.

Skinny, look on CL and see if you can find an old pontoon boat. You can either build your pier over the pontoons or just strip the pontoon down to the deck and use that as your pier.
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.

Why a floating dock? I would rather have a fixed dock in a small pond.
I've built a few floating docks on Lake Eufaula, I can't stand that squeaky up and down stuff, but if the water level fluctuates a lot it is the way to go.

You can also fill them 1/4 to 1/2 full with water and a little bleach to prevent bacteria, then seal the bungs up with 5200 marine caulk. Last forever practically. Exactly what I helped my uncle do at Lake Martin about 8 years ago... Still goin strong - haven't had any issues and man those things take some abuse during the summer when the lake's got 17000 boats on it every weekend...
