I have 350 acres and nobody on our place turke y hunts. Every field I went to had turkeys all in it. One field would have 12/15 everytime. That should get you some help! Good luck and welcome to the madness

Good luck and welcome to the madness Yep. PM's are on the way now I bet. Honestly it would be very difficult for somebody to just tell you how to turkey hunt. Once you go a couple times and get a little bit of a feel for what's going on your questions will become a lot more specific and you'll get some really good advice on here. As for one of your questions though, if I was gonna buy a 20 gauge shotgun in that price range I would get an 870 compact over a mossberg any day, but that's just personal preference.

As far as guns go "GO BIG OR GO HOME" Browning BPS 10 gauge is a man's gun! You'll "roll one" out to 70 yards.

Here are some secrets that the others will not tell you. They will probably tell you I am lying.
1. You should always call as much as possible. 2. The more decoys the better. 3. Only buy calls with Micheal Waddells picture on them. 4. You really don't even need camo. 5. Turkeys sense of smell is better than a deers. 6. Always use fox urine or hen-in-heat as a cover scent. 7. Do not shoot at a strutting turkey. The pellets will bounce off 8. The turkeys will not come to calls after lunch time. 9. Invest in a good gobble call. Use it often. 10.Only sissys wear snake boots.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

2. In most cases, less calling is "more"...try to not get overly excited when you get one answering and call to every gobble...still trying to learn when more calling is the way to go....
My biggest turkey hunting flaw by far...just can't help myself.

1. Get a comfortable turkey lounge/chair/cushion - I can't stress this enough (without this #2 is impossible). 2. Be very still. 3. Keep gun up and ready. 4. Unless you are planning on running-n-gunning, find your setup a day or two in advance (clear limbs/grass/stuff out of your way, find good leaning tree,...etc.) 5. You will have little or no chance of pulling a gobbler off hens; however, if you can pull the hens - the gobbler will follow. My experience has been - that once a gobbler has some hens, unless you can head them off - take a nap till about 9:30. Then get after him again - he'll be looking for some more tail. 6. I like decoys and believe they give an advantage - a couple of hens and a jake.
