On January 23, 2012 we got a call from Will Wright from Sardis, Al. He told Tom that his father Keith had shot a deer in Gurley, Al. They had followed the blood trail but had lost it but they were confident that the deer was dead. We met Keith , Will and his buddy James Hereford at the Hereford Farms in Gurley, Al around 11:30 am. James and Will loaded us up on 4 wheelers and we made our way up a steep mountain. Meg immediately got on the track and was quickly off up the mountain. 5 minutes past and we heard her barking. Tom and I now knew we were dealing with a wounded deer. I made my way up to her but she kept getting farther and then all the sudden I see her and she crosses speeding down the mountain. I get on her track and spot fresh blood. I call Tom and let him know what is happening. I start to follow Meg but she keeps getting farther. Tom and Keith also start heading towards her direction. Tom asks Will and James to go get the 4 wheelers in case she gets too far. I look at my gps and Meg is 3/4 of a mile away. Tom and Keith are also the same distance away. It takes me about half hour to get within range of her. Tom tells Keith that Meg has the deer because she is no longer moving. I hear Meg barking and I see Tom and Keith moving in. Keith slips in quietly and sees his wounded buck standing in a creek with Meg barking at it. He takes a shot and puts his wounded deer down. Keith was so happy and we were too. Congratulation Keith. The Hereford Farms in Gurley was one of the nicest hunting land we had seen in Northern Alabama.

I love that pic, Meg looks like she wants to tear that deer up. smile

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Awesome job you and Meg are doing. I've lost a couple of deer and would've loved to have been able to use your services. Again, great job.
