The rut has long since passed where I hunt and I'm trying to figure out the best times to hunt this Saturday. Since it's the last weekend I want to spend as much time as I can in the woods, which if it was just me would mean before daylight until after dark. However, I'll have my son with me and I'm not sure he'll make it all day. I'm not even sure he'd make a 6:00-1:00 sit. With the full moon, I'm considering starting a little later (like 8:00) but I love getting out there before the sunrise and the cold temperatures seem to quickly disappear when the sun comes up. The other option is that we could sit from 6-8, come in for a hour or so then head back out from 9:00 till 1:00 or so. I guess I need to figure out which factor will more important to them moving, the full moon or cold temps in the morning. Is there another factor I need to consider (other than wind obviously, but I've got options depending on the wind so it won't be an issue). What do you think?

Cleburne county. Property has hardwoods, pine thicket, swamps, creeks, green fields and being in the foothills of the Appalachians has some decent ridges. I wouldn't really call them mountains more like large hills but I think you get the idea. Was thinking I'd hunt the hardwoods on the edge of the pine thicket in the morning. Then hardwoods on edge of greenfield (pine thicket on the other side of the greenfield) in the afternoon.
Another option is sitting in a stand from 6:00 till 8:00 so and then attempt to stalk hunt the rest of the morning. Thinking getting out of the stand and moving around may help little man. But I'm not sure I can keep him quiet enough. He can be quiet when he thinks about it.....but keeping him thinking about it for more than 30 seconds in a row is challenging some times.

Although I do believe moon conditions have an effect on daylight deer movement, I also believe the link is fairly weak. I believe weather conditions overpower moon conditions as an influence on daylight deer movement. I'll buy that.
