How has the season been so far in Baldwin county. I'll be heading out there for the last weekend in January trying to time the rut. Sometimes we catch it right, sometimes we miss out completely. I haven't been since opening morning when I let a 4 point walk. Since then i've had a rough season in Mississippi. I won't be able to hunt until then so I'm hoping to get some meat in the box!

Im in a 1200 acre club in Stapleton. We've killed 11 does and a young 4pt so far. We probably wont see no bigguns till later this month.

So where in Baldwin county is the best hunting?

I live in ft Morgan, but I see deer pretty much everywhere I go in the county.
Even on hwy 59!
I saw a doe cross hwy 59 one night last month at TARGET in gulf shores!

I hunt right off of Hwy 59, but in north Baldwin north of Stockton. I see plenty of deer along 59 usually when i'm driving at night. About 8 years ago we had to slow down or stop about 4 times between Hwy 225 and where we hunt because of so many deer. We probably saw about 100 that night alone. I have never seen it like that again and probably never will though. I still usually see a few in that stretch though.

I have a lease South of Bay Minette and we have had an extremely slow year. We have seen about 25% of the deer that we saw last year for some reason. The bucks are still running in groups. Just this past weekend did we start seeing better deer movement but still not great. It has to get better soon cause it sure cant get any worse.

I've seen some bruiser bucks on the south side of the canal!
Bunches of hogs too over there. Here in ft Morgan we have a few hogs and I have not seen any deer here since Katrina. We have bobcats and coyotes and foxes though.

I'll check with some friends about orange beach ( legal side of the canal)
Just checking for somewhere close to take my son after school.
