Is buckshot legal for deer? Ought not to be. Too many deer have been killed by a pellet that went through the guts from these shells. Many times they get away only to die hours later laid up somewhere and then feasted on by the coyotes. Just my $0.02.

Yes it's legal. Check regs if hunting public land. Make sure you buy only what your gun will chamber. Have been on stalk hunts and killed a few deer with the old Belgium made A5 and some 3" high gas.
