What websites do you guys use to check the feed times for Alabama? And in particular, your area of the state?
I'm in Tuscaloosa and don't really have a "go to" site.

The big ones seem to always do the opposite of what everyone and every chart says. Except when the rut is in swing. Just remember, when these charts are printed, they have no way of knowing what the weather would be on those days. Take it for what it is worth in conjunction with the weather (temp, wind, front coming or going), or other "natural" affects on deer (dogs, people, sasquatch). I've used them before and gone on a "poor" day that just so happened to be the coldest of the season that year in my area. Saw like 12-15 deer moving and feeding that morning. So, if it gives you confidence use them. Confidence will allow you to sit longer and let opportunity play out! Totally agree! Thanks for the different sites, I have some friends telling me about them all the time so I wanted to know more about them. BTW, I did shoot a doe today on the way into my stand at 8:56! So maybe it was right on that one!

Just remember these "feeding times" charts are for aquatic animals, such as fish, that are influenced by the tidal pull of the moon. They have nothing to do with land mammals, like deer. totally disagree on that, I've been following deer activity based on moon phase and position and believe the charts are usually pretty accurate in areas where the deer aren't pressured to hell and back. I also think weather and barometric pressure are the ultimate trump cards.

I also think weather and barometric pressure are the ultimate trump cards. I too have been following these tidal-based "feeding charts" for deer movements. With 25 years of hunter-collected data, I find statistically nothing. But I do agree, next to hunting pressure and phase of the rut, weather is the biggest environmental player in influencing daylight deer activity.

Agree BSK ^^^^, in nearly 40 years of hunting deer I believe the moon phase and tidal pull has little to no effect. Hunting pressure, rut and weather. Has been my observation the more extreme then weather, the more it shuts them down. Let it get up to 70 or down to 0 and makes for some tough hunting. Food will to some extent, but I don't buy the feeding chart/moon phase thing, too many other factors involved,IMHO.

If it makes you sit one moment longer in the stand because it gave you confidence then use it, but certainly don't let it persuade you to not get into the woods! Extremely well said. If it gives you confidence, and keeps you in the woods longer, by all means do it.

Jeff Murray's moon dial is the best thing I've found on Bama mountain deer. I couldn't agree more that weather is numero uno, but if that moon dial says the best activity will be at high noon (to coincide with a full or new moon), you better keep your arse in the tree through mid-day instead of getting down at 10:00 to be the first one to the Pikeville store to get an 11:00 cheeseburger. When the rut is rockin' and weather is not extreme, peanut butter and crackers and a Snickers in a tree for me. Cheeseburger at Pikeville or Shorty's, as good as they are, can wait. Those sex crazed bucks, don't check the moon charts.
